Walters Walkway to be lifted at Darley Abbey Mills

Walter’s Walkway will be removed week commencing 6 July to allow the demolition of the original Darley Abbey Mills Bridge.

The Lower section of Old Lane will be closed for all vehicles from Monday 6 July to Sunday 12 July. There will be no pedestrian access during working hours.

A section of the river path from South Avenue to Old Lane will also be closed.

The following traffic management will be in place:

• The one-way system on West Row will be reversed

• On Darley Street and New Road it will be suspended to allow two-way traffic

• Temporary traffic lights will be in place on New Road between The Hill and Darley Street.

Please continue to stay away from the area. Security remains on site and the area will be fenced off and patrolled during the bridge lift.
