Six Streets Summer Social

VE Day on White Street - hopefully Saturday will be car free and not just be White Street people!

Last May, the VE day tea parties gave us a much-needed boost and Six Streets group would like residents to have another neighbourly afternoon. The idea is to for White St and Park Grove residents to set up tables as they did on VE day while other Six Streeters can use the road space (from Statham St junction to White St corner)

So this will not be a street party set up along pre Covid lines as far as tables in middle of road & sharing of dishes goes.  Instead residents will bring picnic chairs and a small table/ rug to set up along the street along with their own food & drink.

We will be setting up a play zone or two for children and perhaps some residents may like to perform so we can enjoy some music as we sit and chat. Please get in touch if you would like to play - we can see about timings/power cables/location etc

If you would like to yarn bomb the trees in the area, then please do so. If you have bunting to lend then get in touch Help putting bunting up will be much appreciated.

Six Streets has provided the council with contingency Covid-19 planning as part of applying for the legal road closure. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to park elsewhere during the party to allow as much space as possible in the road.

Please note: the timings are approx and the event taking place depends on council approval and covid situation.
