Six Streets Walking Group – Wednesday 23rd September, 2026 - Willington Lakes

This is a 4 mile walk through Willington Lakes Nature Reserve and back to Willington along the Trent and Mersey Canal towpath. The walk is level but can be a bit muddy after rain. There are gates and several bird hides which are well worth going into with binoculars if you have them.

A herd of young cattle were present when it was pre-walked, they were curious in one field but were well behaved.

As usual we will meet from 10.20 for 10.35 departure outside 75 Wheeldon Avenue.  Well behaved dogs on a lead always welcome!

Feel free to bring a drink/snack with you, but there are cafes or pubs in Willington for refreshments after the walk.
