Six Streets Deep-Clean *Update*

Derby City Council plans to clear out the drains/gullies, road, channels and pavements on Statham Street, Wheeldon Avenue and White Street on Tuesday 30 September 9.00 am - 1 pm.

The Council will need to ask residents on Statham Street, Wheeldon Ave, White Street to park elsewhere for the duration of the work. We will need people to leave the street totally car free on the 3 streets above. They have asked for NO BINS on pavements (for the pavement cleaning machine).

Where you can park?:
There are streets around us where you could possibly park between 9am and 1pm for example; West Bank Avenue and adjoining streets, Cedar Street, Sherwin Street, Highfield Road, Arthur Hind Close, Quarn Street, Redshaw Street, Leyland Street, Walter Street.
Please be aware that these residents do not know about the street cleaning and may be alarmed at more cars suddenly parking on their street so please be considerate and politely explain that it is short term, if you are asked. Look out for any resident’s permits/school restrictions (please don’t get a fine)
** Please note: Parking restrictions for the Cedar Street area will be relaxed by DCC for the time period of the street clean, this will not apply to the Bromley Street Safe Haven **

The following organisations with car parks have also offered spaces to Six Streets residents:

St Alkmunds Church - can offer spaces for 8 cars, rhs of car park only, not the disabled bay. Please can you move your car by 1pm. For any questions please ring Alice on 07462 260947.
The Jonty Farmer - can offer a few spaces between 9-1pm. It is busy and well-used at the moment.
Broadway Baptist Church - can offer their car park only from 11.30am onwards if anyone is returning to the area at that time.
The WI car park in Sherwin Street - can offer 4 - 5 spaces between 9am and 1pm. Open from 7.30am onwards.
The ATS Garage - can offer 4 spaces between 9am and 1pm. Please speak to the ATS office when you drop your car off to clarify if there are still spaces, as it is busy with three businesses there.

Remaining Streets - the remaining streets are in the cleaning plan for next year, the council are targeting the streets with the most leaf/apple debris.

Leaflets - we will leaflet cars on the streets where the cleaning will take place and there will be Council staff around on the day asking you if you could kindly park elsewhere between 9am and 1pm (just for that time).

Your help and co-operation will be greatly appreciated.
