Coronavirus - Local Support

Obviously, we all hope that it doesn’t happen but it could be that people in our area have to self isolate to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Please volunteer to help with this if you can- no volunteers will be asked to do anything that risks them being infected

Check up to date information on the risks

We hope to especially support those who have no family nearby (or whose family have to self isolate!)

If you are isolated at home or sick even, then get in touch 6streetsderby@gmail.com and a volunteer will drop the items in a safe place for you to pick up easily. It should also be possible to walk dogs and supply some cooked meals if we have details of particular circumstances.

Or if you have a neighbour who does not use email, then please you drop a note with all this information plus these numbers 07759 778835 or 01332 725568 for your neighbour to keep in case it’s needed. We are going to deliver to everyone in core area but it won’t hurt if your neighbours hear it from you first.

Obviously, the volunteers can’t be asked to do anything that places them at risk so payment needs to avoid transfer of physical money

(electronic payment is safe or perhaps you arrange BACS payment by ringing your bank)

Sorry, no letters, parcels, anything with surfaces that could carry the virus can be handed over to volunteers

Please share this post with other people - maybe other areas can offer similar help!

All volunteers need to be aware of expert advice on the risks - to themselves and to the person in isolation.
