Six Streets Deep-Clean
Derby City Council plan to clear the drains and deep clean some road/footpaths in the Six Streets area on Tuesday 30 September 9.00 am - 1 pm.
The Council will need to ask residents on Statham Street, Wheeldon Ave, White Street to park elsewhere for the duration of the work – and if they can they will try and do Park Grove as well.
We will need people to leave 1 m clear on either side of each drain on ALL streets, and ideally leave the street as car free as possible on the 4 streets above. The remaining streets are in the plan for next year, the council are targeting the streets with the most leaf/apple debris.
We are working with St Alkmunds Church, the Jonty Farmer, Broadway Baptist Church and the WI to
see if we can park there temporarily for that day, we will let you know if we get their agreement and there are other streets around, without resident’s permits/school restrictions (please don’t get a fine) – around West Bank Avenue, Highfield Road areas and on the other side of Kedleston Road.
** We have just heard from DCC that parking restrictions for the Cedar Street area will be relaxed for the time period of the street clean, this will not apply to the Bromley Street Safe Haven **
Leaflets – we will leaflet cars on the streets where the cleaning will take place, and there may be Council staff on the day asking you if you could kindly park elsewhere for just that time.
If you would like your drain cleaned please add a Wheelie Bin there the night before (on 29th September) so the drain is not missed by the lorry.
Your help and co-operation will be greatly appreciated.
